A HISTORICAL GEM
Before delving into the camping experience, it's essential to appreciate the rich history of the Quamby Pub. Established in the late 1800s as a customs house and then later as a road stop when the township of Quamby died down in the 1970’s.
After being abandoned for the past 10 years, the property was purchased in 2021 and the new owners set to restore the pub back to its former glory. Quamby pub reopened its doors in April 2023, providing travellers with a glimpse into its fascinating past.
CAMPING AT THE PUB
There are several campsites available, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your preferences. Whether you prefer a secluded spot beneath the star-studded outback sky or a more social setting near the pub, there's a campsite for you.
The campsites offer basic amenities, including clean restroom facilities and even a pool! While it's not a luxurious camping experience, it's the perfect opportunity to take a break from your travels and unwind with a cold beer overlooking the Australian Outback.
For those seeking a more comfortable stay, Quamby Pub also offers cozy rooms and cabins. These accommodations provide a bit more luxury while still allowing you to savour the historic charm of the pub.

The Quamby Pub welcomes campers with open arms. The pub exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere where you can unwind and socialise with fellow travellers. The friendly staff serves up decent meals and drinks that aren’t going to break the bank! Oh, and don’t forget to stop and give Izzy the pub dog a little scratch (she loves a good belly rub).
